SON
SAVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
PETITION
On April 17, 2008, Mayor Hibbard and
City Council will vote on increasing
the hotel room density for the City of Clearwater that would allow up
to 125 hotel rooms per acre on
property zoned Tourist
and Commercial in the City of
Clearwater. This could result in more
than an additional 1500 hotel rooms built on Sand Key. These hotel rooms could be added to the
Marriott, Sheraton,
Shoppes of Sand Key properties. Legg Mason is pushing the City to approve this increase in the
number of rooms allowed per acre. If
approved, Legg Mason may submit plans to build a 66 room hotel at the Cabana
Club Restaurant site, 1590 Gulf Blvd.
